Samsung Galaxy S8: Bixby, Dex dock, “Infinity” display confirmed in final round of leaks

Written by Jaymin Shah

We have a final batch of Samsung Galaxy S8 leaks ahead of its official unveil later today. These details stem from the phone’s user guide, which was made available through Samsung’s download centre a day early (it has since been removed).

The digital assistant Bixby—a rejigged version of Viv, which was acquired by Samsung last year—is confirmed. Likewise, the guide shows Samsung Dex, a dock that lets you connect the Galaxy S8 to an external display, mouse, and keyboard. Ubuntu Edge, eat your heart out. Fingerprint recognition, iris recognition, and face recognition are all discussed in the Galaxy S8 guide.

The guide also mentions “Bluetooth dual audio,” which lets you connect the Galaxy S8 to two different audio devices simultaneously.

That bezel-less screen now has an official name, too: Infinity Display, which sounds kind of like Dell’s Infinity Edge displays.
