Gmail outage hits parts of U.S. and UK

No, it’s not just you: Gmail is down across the world for millions, with people in the US and UK hit the hardest so far.

The disconnection became a disruption for work flow and Gchat conversations on Wednesday morning. The search engine giant confirmed its extensive email network experienced a service disruption starting at 8:16 a.m. PT.

“We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly,” Google wrote on its Apps Status dashboard. “Based on reports, it affects only Google for Work Gmail users.”

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

As a suggested workaround, the company recommends disabling Gmail Service in your Admin Console UI, saving the changes, turning it back on and saving the changes again.
