ZTE continues to press its advantage on big, affordable phones.
ZTE has just launched the ZMax Pro in the U.S. via MetroPCS. The company has shifted its focus towards the American markets as of recently and we expect the handset to break cover in the Indian markets fairly soon. As far as the hardware is concerned, the ZMax Pro is pretty well equipped. It carries a price tag of just $99 or Rs 6,600, which is pretty decent given the hardware on board.
A device like this for just under Rs 7,000 would create massive waves around the country, so we hope ZTE wastes no time in bringing it to India. The handset will be available in a solitary Black color variant, so customers aren’t getting much of a say in terms of colors.
On the occasion of the launch, ZTE announced that it sold about 15 million smartphones last year and that there are nearly 30 million active ZTE smartphones worldwide today. This is not a big figure by any means, but it’s still respectable given the kind of competition it faces from big companies like Samsung, Apple etc and Chinese manufacturers.

6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display
8.9mm thickness 174.9 grams
Octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor
13MP rear camera
5MP front camera
