Tinder wants you to bring your embarrassing friends on your already awkward date

Written by Jaivik Shah

Tinder Social is a new groups feature being tested in Australia that enables you to get together all of your friends so you can swipe through and match with other groups to plan a big night out.

You can then chat with the people you’re matched with or see from the group status where they’re headed.

The assumption is that you’ve got a big gang of gorgeous pals, all using Tinder, who have poor planning skills but are keen to pre-meet a few eligible strangers before heading out into town.

For Tinder, it’s clearly hoping to move beyond the one-on-one hookups rep, perhaps make dating less daunting and help its users widen their social circles.

For users, well, let’s just hope you don’t get stuck with the ugly one in the group.
